Established Sunix Corporation Headquarter. Segregated product lines into two major groups: Networking & Communication business department which main concentration is in the industrial market; and IT/IA business department which main concentration is in the consumer product groups. In the same year, Sunix established its R&D center in Shanghai with one group major in IT/IA product group and another team specialized in the N&C category; effectively increase the efficiency of its R&D function |

Announced the world’s first Parallel IC chipset, SUN1688, which integrated the Parallel Control Unit, 12 sets of I/O Address Decoder, Clock, and 8 sets of Interrupter in a single chipset package. This chipset is the first controller created wholly by Sunix, which also set the record in history with over 100,000 pieces of board shipped out in a single month. Afterward, Sunix re-engineered the SUN1688 chipset from DIP process to SOP process, at the same time added the SPP/BPP/ECP/EPP function, which in turn created the second self engineered chipset, SUN1689 |
